FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is wet food or dry food better for cats?

Wet food provides more moisture (which most indoor cats need) and is typically higher in protein. Dry food is more convenient and better for dental health. Many vets recommend a mix โ€” wet food in the morning and a measured amount of dry food available during the day.

How do I tell if my cat is at a healthy weight?

You should be able to feel ribs with gentle pressure (not see them prominently). Looking down from above, you should see a slight waist. Looking from the side, the belly should tuck up slightly behind the ribs. If you can't feel ribs, your cat is likely overweight.

Should I change portions after spaying or neutering?

Yes โ€” spayed/neutered cats need about 25% fewer calories due to lower metabolic rate. This calculator adjusts automatically when you check the spayed/neutered box. Watch weight closely in the 6 months after the procedure.
